Aethered Forest Glade
This is the title of the permenant installation and concept for the arts enhancement for the new Roundhouse Medical Centre in Barnsley. The Aethered Forest Glade takes influence from the Rowan tree leaf and berry which are resident on the Carlton Marshes near Athersley in Barnsley. Aethred is the old English name for Athersley, the area of Barnsley where the Roundhouse Medical Centre serves.
Commissioned as part of the Barnsley LIFT art programme, an integrated process of creative engagement activities and permanent artworks for 4 new health sites across Barnsley managed by Beam in partnership with Barnsley Community Solutions, NHS Barnsley, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Morgan Sindall.
